"NotAMuse (Unknown Artist, vol. 2)" is culled from hours of the formulaic depictions of the male artist and his female muse in film and television. Her image is not only “captured” on canvas and in stone, but she is the “object” of his obsession that ultimately she must destroy. Edited into the guise of a narrative that also functions as a cultural critique, "NotAMuse" is at times humorous while probing questions about gender stereotypes, visual clichés, and the assumptions Hollywood cinema makes to communicate “artist” on screen.

"NotAMuse" is comprised of preexisting material from 70 film and television sources ranging from 1914 to 2022. This material is drawn from three years of research spanning decades of fictionalized representations of the artist in entertainment media.
